MIDWIVES SEE BIRTH AS A MIRACLE AND ONLY MESS WITH IT IF THERE’S A PROBLEM; DOCTORS SEE BIRTH AS A PROBLEM AND IF THEY DON’T MESS WITH IT, IT’S A MIRACLE!

Barbara Harper in Gentle Birth Choices

Hello!

After the birth of my first child in the hospital,  I knew there had to be a different way. The experience was not what I wanted.  I lacked support, knowledge, and trust in my body’s ability to give birth. Without these my baby and I were  put through the typical hospital experience and came out on the other end traumatized and confused.

When 30 weeks pregnant with  my second baby I thought "my body was a failure" and that maybe I should "just give up and have a c-section already." ....Not realizing that my body wasn't a failure, the system and my previous provider failed me.

I came across the option for an out-of-hospital birth with midwives. HOLD ON A MOMENT- people still do that? YES!

I found a wonderful midwife and birthed my baby at home 8 weeks later.

I went on to have 4 more babies at home with midwives, including the last baby born SURPRISE breech at home.

In case you were trying to do the math on that- have 6 kiddos and I enjoy spending my days with my husband Galen, gardening, fostering animals, crocheting and of course naps.
